Open Question: How would a 15 year old go about getting a book published?

I'm a fifteen year old kid, not even out of high school, writing a story in Adelaide, South Australia. How would I go about contacting a publisher/agent? Which one (or both) would I need to contact? What issues, if any, would arise from being a minor? Would being in foster care raise any more difficulties? Who could I get to proofread my story? (I don't think it's very good.) How long would it take for this all to be organized? Do you think I'm asking too many questions or being paranoid? Is paranoid a good trait for an author? Am I getting really off topic?...
